Nationally acclaimed songwriter and performer IAN AXEL will appear with his superb band at the Fair Lawn Community Center Theater
on Friday, June 4. Ian's track "This Is The New Year" (from the album of the same name) was a free Discovery download on iTunes, and his song "Gone" was Paste Magazine's number-one download on May 21. Ian's songs have been featured on numerous television shows, including MTV’s “The Real
World.”
Opening for Ian is Patti Rothberg, who after signing with EMI in the
mid-1990s struck gold with "Inside," performing it on Letterman,
Leno, Oprah and elsewhere. Her catchy, memorable songs continue to delight and
intrigue. She is releasing a new album this summer.

There is no such thing as a perfect album. But Ian Axel’s debut, This is the New Year, comes pretty doggone close. I haven’t loved an entire album this much since I discovered Harry Nilsson’s 1971 life-changer Nilsson Schmilsson.
Along the same notes as that legendary whiz, Axel tinkers and pounds on
his piano keys, and sings about waltzing ghosts and life’s simple
pleasures. If you are a fan of witty and memorable power pop, your life

and other fleeting fantasies. Laying the foundation with piano and
intertwining violin to thicken the song with dramatic suspense, Axel
